This new shop in Lausanne, nestled in rue Grand-St-Jean, will charm you with its incredible selection of teas and its warm atmosphere thanks to the kindness of Anne, the owner of the premises, who does her utmost to make tea accessible to as many people as possible! Grab yourself a cup and discover without further ado this universe that will titillate your senses..

3 sons and a passion

Anne was born in a cup of tea, so to speak. This Belgian native comes from an epicurean family that instilled in her the pleasures of good food from an early age. Chips, of course, but especially tea!

Anne, qui a suivi partout son mari au gré des mutations professionnelles, a tout naturellement transmis cette culture à ses 3 fils (dont Lancelot qui a créé The Gallery in Nyon). She was very dynamic and also worked as a volunteer and in art coaching.

Back in Switzerland with her youngest child, who was no longer a child, she started working in a tea shop where she had become accustomed to working. After a few years, she decided to go it alone. And it was in a clothing shop with a hidden terrace (the pleasant surprise that made her sign the lease) that she created her first boutique in Nyon in 2013. She named it Le Cercle du Thé. Since then, its loyal clientele loves to sit there on sunny days to enjoy their tea.

Le Cercle du Thé is also a tea room !

At the end of 2021, she opened her second shop in Lausanne in a former discreet geobiology-ecobiology shop that offered candles and natural remedies. Charmed by the space and the light at the back of the shop, Anne completely rearranged the place. She reappropriated it in order to offer her Lausanne customers a cocoon of relaxation.

On the same principle as Nyon, Le Cercle du Thé in Lausanne offers 9 seats where you can taste any tea at a unique price of 4,10 CHF. This is an opportunity to try rarer and more expensive scents. Because le Cercle du Thé is not a closed circle. The philosophy of the place is to make the world of tea accessible to as many people as possible. And if you're not into tea, there's also hot chocolate. As well as the coffee offered by our other Chouquettisé Café Oli.

« I like this job because of the contact with people. When a person comes to us, they press the pause button to enjoy a moment of decompression. »

— Anne, Founder of le Cercle du Thé

Comfortably installed, you can enjoy the delicious gluten-free pastries ofEl Gato. Other collaborations are to come...

An incredible selection of teas

Anne is constantly tasting new teas in order to satisfy the ever-changing demands of her customers. She also travels (before COVID...) to bring back treasures that are consequently available in very limited editions.

At le Cercle du Thé, you will find a range of over 200 teas and infusions of all kinds with many mixes concocted directly by Anne. They are put forward in order to favour diversity and not to limit you to what you know. Yes, there is not only Chaï in life ;-).

Anne also has a nice range of teas without theinewhich is not always easy to find. With some exclusivities like the Yunnan Gold (there is only the bud, the best part of the tea). But also the "Black Pearl" made of black tea leaves that are rolled into small balls. Or the smoked green tea which is incredible to smell as it resembles the smell of a wood fire!

Bulk, local and eco-actions!

Since its creation, le Cercle du Thé has grown its eco-responsible actions with a desire to offer a range of organically grown teas whenever possible and above all natural teas (indeed, substances are often added to tea to increase the taste and smell :-().

In the shop, everything is nicely laid out in bulk in personalised boxes. So you can come with your own container and so von einem Rabatt von 5% profitieren.

In February 2020, her sons, who are very active in the small business, decided to launch the " Le cercle du Thé "They put their own products in bags (made from 100% recyclable materials) in their laboratory in Mont-sur-Lausanne. In this way, they are able to meet a growing demand from customers and restaurateurs, such as the Jajaffe.

At le Cercle du Thé, you will also find small gourmet, artisanal and local accompaniments... Such as Biscuits Time from Cossonay, the chocolate Cadésio, the Syrups of Sirupier de Berne echoing the origins of Anne's husband. Or the fruit spreads (not to say jam, as the recipe contains very little sugar) of Bocal de fruits... But also honey wax candles from Madame Troxler to put you in the Hygge mood.

Always on the lookout for the perfect mug and novelties that will delight your home and of course everything related to tea mugs, teapots, infusers, tins... Anne will be able to share her passion with you.

In short, you will succumb to the Cercle du Thé for a present,a relaxing moment or just to discover the new fragrances that emanate from its shops where the time" is a family affair !
